Song 12: Youngstown
The song Youngstown, by Bruce Springsteen describes the story of a man who works at a series of metal plants at Youngstown, that built the weapons that won America's wars. The story is told about the history of the plants throughout the decades and the men who work there. This song depresses me somewhat as it makes me remember the sweatshop labor that citizens had to go through to keep America strong. This song teaches us about how many citizens had to drudge tediously to keep America great.
